On completion of this course, you will have an understanding of Restorative Practices (RP) and be able to implement RP in your classroom and school. You will know how to foster and maintain a positive school culture among adults and students alike. You will have at your disposal a set of solutions to common school problems that have met with proven success which are based on international best practice in Restorative Practices. Using Restorative Practices you will be able to review and renew a whole school improvement plan as part of your school’s SSE process.
On completion of this course you will gain a better understanding of educational organisations and have a more complete understanding of how conflict and stress is an ever present force in any organisation. Furthermore, the course demonstrates how conflict and stress can be appropriately managed and re-imagined for the benefit of the individual and the school community. Along the journey you will assess your conflict management style and appreciate the role of mediation and negotiation in managing conflict in your school. You will examine and analyse the causes and effect of stress on you and your school, and describe how to support yourself and others in the school community to deal with stress.
On completion of this course you will gain a better understanding of educational organisations and will learn and apply key management and leadership skills, especially in the areas of creativity and innovation, motivation, time management and school self-evaluation.

On completion of this course you will have greater appreciation of the role of school management and its impact on the quality of teaching. You will have explored key aspects of management such as communication, performance, conflict management, people management, motivation, task and time management and decision-making techniques. You will understand key management techniques and their application to schools in the context of school improvement.
